Whether you’re brand-new to article marketing or a seasoned veteran who writes articles all the time, and knows the value of a good article, I want to share with you some good news, and some bad news. The bad news is every newcomer to the Internet has been told that article writing will give them back links to their website. All they want is a back link to their websites, they really aren’t concerned with providing valuable information.
As a result the web is become overloaded with poor quality articles. Article marketing became a powerful back linking tool because it provided the reader with quality content, information they were seeking, and would share with others.
Google and other search engines have a responsibility to their users. That responsibility is to deliver exactly what their user is searching for. When a user enters a keyword, or keyword phrase into a search box, they expect targeted results. The longer the keyword phrase the more specific the user expects the results to be. Unfortunately we are being inundated with sales pitches, fake review sites, and in some cases spam.
Google keeps changing their algorithms in an effort to make their users experience more rewarding. If they didn’t do this the search engines would become like your e-mail box, loaded with garbage, and sales pitches.
Obviously that was the bad news; you are now entitled to the good news. All those people who are rehashing content, and think they have made it look like their own are not fooling anybody, especially not Google.
If you going to write an article and expect people to appreciate it, write about something you know. Whether you want to believe it or not, you are a wealth of knowledge, perhaps not the most knowledgeable person on the subject that you’re writing about. However remember you’re writing an article, not a novel; there are many readers who will enjoy your content.
I hope I didn’t mislead you into thinking that article marketing is dead, absolutely nothing could be further from the truth. A good quality article is still one of the best ways to get a quality links back to your website and provide you with credibility as the author.
Writing articles and publishing them to highly rated article directories cost you nothing. That’s really is a little misleading, it does cost you time, and only you get to determine that value.
You write a great article because you’ve done your research, and you shared valuable information. You didn’t turn the reader off by trying to sell them something like everybody else on the Internet. You get to the end of your article and that’s where your resource box is.
The resource box, or bio box as some directories like to refer to it. Is your chance to convince the reader to do what you want them to do? That could be visiting your website or your affiliate’s website, but you’ll want to do it in a professional way that doesn’t look like an advertisement.
Making your resource box look like a continuation of the article, and giving the reader an incentive to click through to your website is really what you’re trying to accomplish.
Writing articles is a powerful marketing tool and to do it right is easy, just follow the article directly guidelines. There are only a few things to learn, and you can learn them all without spending a dime.
